Youth Development Specialist

Youth development specialists coordinates and supervises programs designed to help our children and teens discover and cultivate their personal interests and abilities. The YPS will focus on a specific areas of development, such as experiential learning through our curriculum as well as exploring areas in the creative arts and media technology.

Ideal candidates must be enthusiastic and compassionate individuals with leadership experience, excellent time management skills, and must enjoy working with children and teens and be able to work well with co-workers and staff. 

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Interest in a career in youth development

  • Must be available between  6:30pm - 9:00pm Monday - Friday

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Prior experience working with children/teens

  • Must have state required child care clearances

Volunteers

Our volunteers are key to the success of our programs.  Volunteers may assist in any capacity including  teaching a course, assisting with homework, reading to children or just being a listening ear for a child or teen with a need to talk. 

Childcare Workers

Position Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in supervising children at all times

  • Support implementation of daily schedules and age-appropriate activities

  • Help with classroom setup, cleanup, meals, and rest periods

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment

  • Promote positive behavior and model appropriate interactions

  • Follow all Pennsylvania DHS regulations and center policies

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Experience working with children preferred

  • Ability to obtain and maintain PA DHS clearances (Child Abuse, Criminal Background, FBI Fingerprinting)

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability

  • Genuine passion for working with children in a faith-based setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Ability to stand, bend, and actively engage with children throughout the day
